STATUE OF SAMVARA AND ITS PARATRE IN GOLDEN BRONZE
NEPAL, XVIII-XIXth CENTURY
The figure is seated with legs crossed on a lotus of an elaborate tiered throne. Both hands are embracing his relationship and he is holding the vajra and ghanta. He is dressed in a dhoti, scarf and jewellery. His face displays a severe expression and his hair is dressed in a bunion secured with a tiara. His consort holds a Kartrika and Kapala. Two female deities are on the throne and a flaming mandola is behind. The reverse of the bronze has an inscription.
