STATUE OF SYAMATARA GOLDEN COPPER
NEPAL, BEGINNING OF XVIth CENTURY
Syamatara is seated in Lalitasana on a smaller basis. Her right hand is in Varadamudra while the left in Vitarkamudra, and both are originally holding the stem of a lotus flowering along her upper arms. She is wearing a sari and jewellery set with semi-precious stones. Her hair is coiffed in a bun and secured with a tiara; sealed.
