Red Macchendranath stands to the right of the central figure surrounded by emanations in clouds, connected to his urna, eyes, mouth, throat, heart, hands, navel by gold lines, cf. gold lines issuing from Shrishtikanta Lokeshvara in a paubha formerly in the Jucker Collection, see Sotheby’s New York, 28 March 2006, lot 30. The inscription below records that the present paubha depicting Avalokitesvara was painted by the citrakara (artist) Vishvamitra Sim for Dhanavade Shakya in the year corresponding to 1799. Inscriptions throughout identify each deity.
