The Two-Armed Shiva

Physical description

The two-armed Shiva sits cross-legged and holds a trident and pot (?). There are snakes round his waist and neck. Separately cast from the plain four-footed rectangular base which has a loop to one side. There is room for a second figure beside Shiva but no sign that one was ever fitted. Brass colour, little wear.

Transferred from the India Museum, London, in 1879.
