- Footnotes : Another Nepalese gilt repoussé plaque depicting the goddess Durga slaying the buffalo-demon Mahisha was sold at Bonhams, New York, 13 March 2017, lot 3050. Stylistically, a large figure of Padmanartteshvara, dated 1724 CE, has a similarly slender figural type covered by sheer garments (Bonhams, Hong Kong, 29 November 2016, lot 135). Also, compare a related panel of Ganesha formerly in the Alsdorf Collection (Pal, A Collecting Odyssey, 1997, no.67, p.58).
