  • NOTE : Lord Ganesha in his six-armed form raises his right leg in a lively dance. He is flanked by two consorts or attendants, one with her right foot also raised in dance. Ganesha's vahana, the rat stands at his Lord's feet, with a plump mango at his side. Ganesha is surrounded by an ornate torana with swirling foliate design inset with makaras, each with raised trunks. The torana is surmounted by a kirtimukha and miniature parasol. It is probable that the current bronze formed the finial to an oil lamp, for a similar fitting, see Dr. Pratapaditya Pal, Art of Nepal, Los Angeles, 1985, p. 124, cat. no. S50.
