White Tara

White Tara

The goddess Tara is shown in an unusual posture with both of her legs in the front as if she is about to stand up. She is sitting on a lotus leaf, but the usual lotus seat is not found. Her halo is asymmetrical and appears to be moving in accordance with the angle of the goddess’ body. The artist seems to have broken down various conventions in depicting the goddess to bring forth a new expression.
