  • NOTE : The rich gilding and warm copper tone of this rare sculpture suggests a Newar hand. Compare with the low three-leaf crown and elegant posture of a 9th century Nepalese Jambhala in the Potala Collection, Lhasa, see Ulrich von Schroeder, Buddhist Sculptures in Tibet, Hong Kong, 2001, Vol. I, p. 492, pls. 157A-B.
