Physical description

Shiva has only two hands, holding a trident and damaru drum, with a snake rearing above his head. He wears a loincloth and jewellery, including a crown and sits in laitasana, with his right leg hanging down, on a simplified round lotus base. Brass colour, little wear.

Presented to India Museum by Sir Bahadoor Jung, Nepal at Paris Exhibition 1855
