AN INSCRIBED GILT-COPPER FIGURE OF BUDDHA, NEPAL, DATED 1745
In two parts, seated in Dhyanasana on a double Lotiform pedestal, the left hand in Dhyanamudr has, the right hand in Bhumisparshamudra , dressed in a diaphanous dress, the face with the serene expression, bears an inscription on the base part of the base that can be translated as “Swasti Madhava Citrakar Lagu (or Lagan), on the quarter of the brilliant half of Baisakh, year 865” (corresponding to the year 1745) ‘, unsealed 23.9 cm, 9 3/8 in.
