  • Label Copy : Label Copy: September 2005 Devotional Arts of Nepal An orange four-armed goddess emerges from a mystical diagram surrounded by a flaming aureole. She is worshipped by the great Hindu gods Brahma (left) and Vishnu (right) and by four donors, who are seated on carpets and in front of bolsters that reveal the Nepali painter's familiarity with Mughal idioms from India. Worship of the goddess was particularly prominent among the Hindus of Nepal throughout the last millennium and into the present day. The inscription under the pedestal of the goddess states that this manuscript was dedicated in 1810 by Dhanabhaja.
